Reflections are an amazing aspect of wedding photography. I especially love reflections in water as seen here at the Stone Tavern Farm in Roxbury New York. Fall weddings in the Catskills are a favorite of ours. The colors are so vibrant and rich. Here we see lots of foliage as the wedding part poses with the Bride and Groom. The shot was taken from across the pond with a Nikon D810 and a 70-200 2.8 mm lens. The choice of lens made the perfect frame to show the groomsmen and bridesmaids through the water. As a second photographer, you get to really take the time to compose photos. Our photographer Ted saw the opportunity while I was taking formal pics to pull of this unique perspective. I always try to do bride and groom portraits right around sunset on the pond at Stone Tavern Farms. With our photojournalist approach, we tend to just let the couples walk around during the magic hour and enjoy the scenery. That is when we use our candid wedding photography skills to catch a laugh or romantic moment. This is why fast cameras and zoom lenses are a must. We try and never miss a moment.
